Strategic Highlights Muraripukur Sister Nivedita Foundation is a non-governmental organization and it is visualizing on creating a society which will be free from hunger, exploitation, and subjugation of any type. It will be based on justice, peace and equality irrespective of caste, gender, religions and political, where people will live in peaceful co-existence with nature; where people love, respect and co-operate each other for their self-reliance and prosperity in the society as well as in humanity as a whole. It has grown to become a convergence point for economically disadvantaged groups who lack access to credit and other community sources. Organization started with limited resources and manpower. Smt. Rekha Mukherjee was born in a renowned family in Dakshineshwar on 01.01.1930. She was married to businessman Mr. Benimadhob Mukherjee. After some years she lost her elder son in an accident, suffered a huge loss in business which eventually lead to the death her husband due to stroke. This leads into a financial breakdown of the Mukherjee family. She was left in the streets without any food, shelter and limited clothes. She had the responsibility of three sons and a daughter over her head. This is when she realized that every person should have a certain responsibility in bringing up the poor and needy people of the society. She accumulated her belongings and started as a personal helper to the poor people by giving shawls, blankets and food. This was back in 1995 when she started this social activity. In 2014 this formed as a Foundation and got registered under the Government of West Bengal. From that day onwards this Foundation has been going to different parts of West Bengal and help the poor people to lead a healthy life. Smt. Rekha Mukherjee passed away on 15.08.2018 for her heavenly demise. From that day onwards the other members of the Foundation are provide their level best to fulfill her dream as their own dream.
